Rates
I prefer to charge by the word count rather than by the hour so that you can know in advance how much a project will cost. However some projects require an hourly charge instead. Email me for details and an estimate.
Proofreading/Copy editing/ Line editing: I charge by the word according to industry standard editing rates. Please email me with your project, word count, and deadline, and I will send you a quote.
Urgent service: If less than 72 hours notice of a deadline, then I will ask for a 25% increase in the quoted project rate.
Rates may vary according to project type (editing, proofreading, typing, webpage/blog review.) Email me with details for a quote according to your specific project and timeline.
Submission and payment process
Contact me at contact@editingfix.com with a sample of your work and desired service. I will send you a quote and a letter of agreement before beginning work. For work over 7500 words or 30 pages a 50% deposit of the full amount is required. I will send a final invoice for the remainder of the fee as soon as the work is completed. I accept major credit cards.
When requested, I offer a free sample edit of 250 words before we agree on the work. I also offer a 1000 word sample edit for a small fee.
