Hello!

I'm Karen, seeking to address your writing needs promptly and professionally in my independent word shop. Throughout years of teaching I found myself frequently completing ad hoc jobs of editing, proofreading, and writing. As I improved written works through careful scrutiny, I transitioned into working as an editor, combining my experience as an instructor and my instinct for polishing the tiny bits of others' writing. After seeking specialized training in proofreading and copyediting, I made the switch to editing for my career. I routinely complete professional training in editing to hone my knowledge and my eagle eye for errors.

I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English (Wheaton College, IL).

I successfully completed the Word Macros A to Z course and Editing Children's Picture Books courses (EFA). I am currently completing the Developmental Editing of Fiction, Beginning course (EFA).

I successfully completed the Poynter ACES Certificate in Editing (Poynter's News University).

I am proficient in Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition and follow individual and house style guides meticulously.
